HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 is showing blue screen and error 068CC413.
I tried the supplied answers from other posts, (removing power cable for 30 secs, removing cartridges (which I can't because they are stuck all the way to the right) but they do not result in a working printer. I found the hidden service menu, but no matter the type of reset I try (partial, semi, full, OOB), the error remains. Is my printer broken beyond repair or does someone have a fix?

Hi @djcourtn,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The 068CC413 error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 indicates a hardware issue, often related to the printer's internal components. Given that you’ve already tried some common troubleshooting steps, including power cycling and attempting resets, and are still facing the error, here are some additional steps and considerations:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Power Off: Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug: Disconnect the power cable from both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait: Leave the printer unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug Back In: Reconnect the power cable to the wall outlet and the printer.
- Power On: Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.
2. Check for Cartridge Issues
- Cartridge Position: Since the cartridges are stuck, gently try to move the printhead assembly back to the center if possible. Be careful not to force anything as it might cause further damage.
- Manually Inspect: If you can, check for any obstructions or issues around the printhead area. Sometimes debris can cause the printhead to become stuck.
3. Inspect the Printer Internals
- Paper Jams: Check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. Even small pieces of paper or debris can cause issues.
- Internal Cables: If you’re comfortable doing so, carefully inspect the internal cables and connectors for any visible damage or disconnections.
4. Access the Service Menu
- Service Menu: If you haven’t already, try accessing the hidden service menu again. Different reset options might be available in this menu that could help resolve the issue.
- To access the service menu, you usually need to press a specific sequence of buttons. Check the printer’s manual or online forums for the correct sequence for your model.
5. Update Printer Firmware
- Firmware Update: If you have access to HP’s support website or can connect the printer to a computer with HP Smart or another printer management tool, check for any firmware updates and install them.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
