HP photosmart 7520 paper feeder failed

I know several people seem to have had a similar problem. My printer is about 6 years old but not used often. The gear  and spool that drives the paper feeder has broken. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a replacement and how easy it is to find someone to fix it.

You can certainly wait to hear back from someone who has had the same issue, sought out the part number, and had the device repaired.  If you hear back from someone in your region, the response will be more or less helpful than hearing back from someone in a completely different location and situation than your own.  For example, this printer was marketed in the USA, Australia, and Canada, and several other regions.

If you wish to do so:

Use your favorite search engine to find Printer Repair depots in your neighborhood.  For example, in the Western USA, some office supply stores still offer device repairs.

Call the repair store - or haul the printer into the store - ask the technician to identify the part and ask about the cost (and availability) of having the printer repaired.

Possible Considerations:

• Product introduced Fall of 2012
• Initial cost of the device (as I recall) was somewhere between $100-120 USD
• In general, technical repair manuals for consumer grade printers are available to licensed technicians.  Many of these documents have found their way onto the Internet.  Use discretion when downloading anything from the 'net.
