Good morning, my m28w printer is locked. When I press the On button, the printer turns on and the green power light flashes. HP writing on the display is also intermittent. I tried to perform the operations of removing the power cord, etc, etc, but the printer does not give signals.
I´d like to make a Factory reset
Thank you

Hi @ANdres32 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w is having some trouble.
Here are the steps you can follow to try a factory reset, which might help resolve the issue:
Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer.
- If it’s not already off, press the power button to turn it off.
- Disconnect the power cord.
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Give it some time to fully power down.
- Reconnect the power cord.
- Plug the printer back into the power source.
- Turn on the printer.
- Press the power button to turn it back on.
Factory Reset
If the hard reset doesn’t work, you can try the factory reset method:
- Turn off the printer.
- Make sure the printer is completely off.
- Press and hold the Resume button.
- This is the button with the triangle symbol.
- Turn on the printer while holding the Resume button.
- Keep holding the Resume button for 10-20 seconds.
- Release the Resume button.
- The printer should start the reset process.
Advanced Firmware Reset
If the factory reset doesn’t resolve the issue, you might need to update or reinstall the printer firmware. This can sometimes help if the printer is bricked:
- Download the latest firmware. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model to find the latest firmware.
- Connect the printer to your computer.
- Use a USB cable to ensure a stable connection.
- Run the firmware update.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.

I hope this helps.

Hello again.
Hard reset: didn't work.
Factory reset: The HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w does not have the Resume button mentioned in step 2. The triangle one is an LED light, it is not a button.
Advanced Firmware Reset: When I connect the printer via USB, my PC does not see it. I tried another PC with the same result.
I bought a new USB cable and it didn't work either.
The green light on the power button and the HP letters on the screen remain flashing at all times. I can't activate Wifi or any other mode.
Removing the toner cartridge and turning on the printer does not indicate that the cartridge is missing.

It's unfortunate that HP can't provide a solution to this.
They have written me a private message indicating a phone number that cannot give me a solution because it is no longer covered by the warranty.
What do I do now? Should I throw my printer in the trash?
Deplorable service, I can't trust HP again, sorry

I am having exactly this problem:
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Errors-or-Lights-Stuck-Print-Jobs/HP-Laserjet-MFP-M28w-identi...
I'm trying to follow the solution recommended by @DmitriyRaz but there is no longer access to the old firmware to downgrade.
I appreciate if someone can give me access to this firmware to solve the problem: "HP_LaserJet_Pro_M28_M31_Firmware_Update_20210121.exe"
It is shameful that a manufacturer like HP publishes firmware that blocks and renders printers unusable.
