Have done a clean uninstall and re-install 3 times--printer CK's ok except the print mode--will not print a test page or an internal print. The printer wakes up and makes noises but will not print. Scan & Print Doctor don't come up with and solution. Windows troubleshoot is worthless--didn't find a problem. I'm ready to return the printer. When trying to find a solution I just go in circles. I don't care for HP Smart either, too many steps to take to do a simple job. The printer setup is wireless--this problem is from my HP desktop---
The printer works when printing from my Laptop--Hope someone can figure this out---

After more hair pulling I accidentally ran across a possible fix---This blows my socks off-- The printer has to be plugged into a wall socket--And not a serge protector-- After doing this I got the test page to print. HP Scan and Print Doctor kept telling me I had a hardware problem--I guess it was hardware LOL

Hello @Butch98 .
You need to completely delete the printer folder:
Press Windows key + R and type regedit.
In the registers click on File, Export and save it on the desktop, this is in case you delete something important and that way you can recover it.
In the window, go to: HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG
-System
-CurrentControlSet
-Control
-Print
-Then delete the printer folder.
Delete the Hp printer folder from the following paths:
C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files\HP
C:\Program Files (x86)\HP or C:\Program Files (x86)\HP
C:\ProgramData\HP
Rename folder 3 to 3_old in the path below (a reboot may be necessary):
C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64.
C:\Windows System32pooldrivers\W32X86.
NOTE: If the folder rejects this action, do the following:
On the keyboard, press the Windows key + R. The Run window will open.
Type net stop spooler, and then press OK.
Rename the folder.
Type net start spooler and then press OK.
Finally reinstall the printer driver and the driver can be downloaded from: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/printers

Thank You, Gold Master--
I just now saw your post-I will keep your information just in case I have more trouble--So far so good on plugging the printer into a wall socket--This really surprised me too---I had no idea, I ran across this fix accidentally.
Thank you again----This might need to be put in the connecting instructions if it isn't already--I didn't see it
