Hi @universalpier,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Yes, you can decline the Instant Ink program, and your HP printer will still work as intended. Instant Ink is an optional subscription service designed to deliver ink or toner automatically to your doorstep based on your printing needs. If you don't want to sign up for Instant Ink, you can use regular retail-purchased cartridges or toner instead.
Here's how to proceed:
During Setup:
- When setting up your printer, you'll likely be prompted to enroll in the Instant Ink program.
- Look for the option to skip or decline the enrollment. This option is sometimes labeled as "Continue without Instant Ink" or something similar.
After Setup:
- If you've already enrolled but decide you don't want to continue, you can cancel your Instant Ink subscription from your HP account.
- Ensure you have non-Instant Ink cartridges(Regular HP ink cartridges) available, as Instant Ink cartridges are subscription-based and will no longer work after cancelation.
Using Standard Ink/Toner:
- Purchase standard HP ink or toner cartridges from a retailer or HP directly. These cartridges do not require any subscription and will work as long as they are compatible with your printer.
If you need assistance navigating this process, let me know!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
