Needed to re-install printer software.
Did a de-install of HP items from control panel.
Downloaded correct latest sofware pack ... PS_AIO_07_C410_140_408-05
I run it ..... and it shows that I can only add softweare - so it must be seeing something still installed.
Continued - although reported all installed successfully - no HP Soltion Center on the desktop ..... my normal way in for scan etc.
I deinsatlled all again .... ebven run IObit uninstaller ..... rebooted ran software again ... and when it starts up it again offers to 'add more sofware'
I need to remove all HP items - and start from scratch ... how do I do this ?

Hello Argonaut, Great job in trying out all those steps!!
I appreciate your patience and your will to find a solution. Really glad to know that the printer is now installed wirelessly and is able to print.
I did some digging regarding HP solution center not working in Win 10 and apparently there is some compatibility issue.
You can go through another HP forum thread http://hp.care/2bA4UhH for more information. There is a solution to uninstall one of the Microsoft security updates. Please check if interested.
I would suggest you to use applications like “HP scan and capture” as an alternate to HP solution center.
If you need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us again. Have a great day!
Cheers 🙂

Hello @Argonaut, Greetings!
Thanks for reaching out to us on HP support forums. I am happy to help you 🙂
Going through your post I see that, apart from the solution center issue, now you are unable to install the drivers & hence having issues to print as well.
First, let’s do a complete uninstall of your old HP C410 programs installed on your Win 10 PC.
- Go to control panel – Programs – In the list of installed programs, click your HP printer name, then click Uninstall (If you see multiple entries with the printer name, select each one and uninstall). You can check http://hp.care/2c0ADuJ for detailed instructions.
- Once the printer software is completely uninstalled you can visit http://hp.care/2c0Ag3x to download and install the Win 10 drivers for your printer.
HP Solution center may not work in certain Win 10 environments, if you have any such issues, please use “HP Scan and Capture” app as an alternative to HP Solution center. You can go to http://hp.care/2bUVkrw to get the app.
Please let me know if this helps!
Cheers 🙂

Glad you are there to help.
I have gone to control panel and removed all HP programs.
Unfortunatley they still show if I look in start>all programs ...
If you look at pic 1 ..... the settings>apps and features window - you can see no HP entrie:
I have even run IObit Uninstaller to remove all traces of HP software, but if I look in start> all programs
There are still entries for HP ... that is why I think installer is failing to work corrcectly.
I have also gone into Settings > devices >printers and manually deleted each HP entry.
How can I do a full uninstall ... ??

Hello Argonaut, Thank you for your reply.
Let’s try a little bit more advanced cleaning process.
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer & PC.
- Click the bottom-left Start button on desktop, type device manager in the search box and tap Device Manager on the menu.
- Once in device manager, click on the view tab in the top & choose “Show hidden devices”
- Then from the device manager list, check the entries under “Printer” – If there are any entries, please right click and choose “uninstall” – In the confirm device un-install pop-up, make sure you select the box which says “Delete the driver software for this device"
- Also, check the entries under "printer queue" and "imaging devices" and repeat the same exercise. Delete any printer entry or any entry which says “Unknown device”
- Once done, close device-manger. Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any C410 printer related folders & files.
- Once done you can try cleaning out your temporary files and cached files. You can try using automated applications like some cleaner software's that you can download from internet.
Then restart your computer and try installing the drivers.
Let me know if it helps!
Cheers 🙂

- No USB this is WiFi connected (or was)
- No entries under printer – there was an entry for C410 under ‘Multifunction Devices’ I uninstalled that. Also one under ‘Imaging Devices’ uninstalled that as well.
- Removed 2 entries under print server
- On c:/programdata - Only entry in Hewlet Packard folder was ‘ceement folder’ so left that
I have run MalwareBytes and CCCleaner and cleared all temp & cache files
Will reinstall s/w and report back

OK ... completed 'removals'
Installed software form your liunk uing the recommended oiption.
It first off brought up the following windoiw - so it still thinks software is installed:
I carried on .. and it rebooted then went though full install ... completed, yet it did not ask me to turn on or plug in printer (worrying)
On completion I have icons on desktop for:
HP Photcreations (which I don't use)
Shop for eSupplies (which I don't use)
I still do not have HP solutions center installed ...
I have no printers installed - the printer does not show in any program (Word, Excel, email etc)
The install software should have installled these?
As a bit of an extra step - run the 'HP Print & Scan doctor' it advised it could see my printer, but that no software was installed (after full install above ?) It did another full install ............ but at the end of it the same. all programs do not have the printer installed.
I did try 'add printer' from within print options but get following error:

Further debug after Googling issues
# stopped print spooler
# restarted print spooler
Plugged in USB cable (not normally used)
# run HP print & scan doctor
….. it installed loads of software and now will print (getting somewhere)
#Rerun s/w pack - Selected USB to Wireless change
Failed with error ‘no path to netwok64.msi .. searched PC , no such file
Found copy on original installation CD – installed
#Rerun s/w pack - Selected USB to Wireless change
It sees printer Wifi etc. …. See pic:
As you can see it confirmed wirless strength, network topology, subnet mask, ip address - but fails each time … just seems to reach 100% … waits for 10 mins then times out … with following error:
Tried alternative approach … set up WiFi connection from Printer …. It completes and runs report advises Wireless connected and working … but in all programs it is reported as ‘offline’
So fault very much on PC sofware side.
# Rebooted Pc & printer
#Rerun s/w pack - Selected USB to Wireless change
Same again gets to 100% … but then fails.
# rerun print Doctor - it only shows USB connection as installed – Wireless printer shown as not installed. Selected to install it ….
It goes though all same step and again .. fails after it gets to 100%
Have also seen this error :
This is proving very frustrating to resolve, 4 hRs sepent and still not back to wirless working, everthing else working fine on PC.

Hello @Argonaut, Thank you for your reply.
Appreciate all your efforts in troubleshooting the issue. I believe there is some driver incompatibility in your current windows environment. Or it could be some issues with the services in your PC.
One last time, try to uninstall the printer software from your computer. Once uninstalled the programs, before trying to install try the below-mentioned steps.
- Restart your computer.
- Go to "Run", type “services.msc”. In the services window restart below-mentioned services and make sure the status is “Started” & startup type is “Automatic”
- Windows Installer, Remote procedure call (RPC), Shell hardware detection and Print spooler.
- Once these services are started, then try to install the software and check whether wireless installation is going through.
If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to add the printer wirelessly by using the windows built in drivers. Please note: You cannot use the HP solution center while using the windows drivers, hence I would suggest you to use “HP Scan and Capture” feature to scan. You can visit http://hp.care/2bYE4kP to get assistance in installing the printer via windows built in drivers.
Please let me know how this goes!
Cheers 🙂

Some information to add ... if I put in my original C410B disk .... the normal window opens .. but only 'button' on the left menu is exit.
Secondly if I look in the control panel ... it does not show HP printer as installed only HP update (and some other modules) so still not installed correctly.
I will try & remove using Revo Uninstaller it is the recommended best approach.
