Hey, HP Tango printer always needs to find wireless connection after every print job (by pressing reboot button for wireless at back). Also usually saying low on paper. Printer is situated near router - could that be a problem? I've had issues with printer from day 1 - time to give up or is there a way to make this one agreeable?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

Let's use WPS to connect the printer to your wireless network.

  • Locate the WPS button on your router, but do not press it yet.
  • If your router does not support WPS, skip to the next step to connect the printer with the HP Smart app.
  • Turn on the printer. If the printer is in sleep mode, press the Cancel button on the control panel.
  • On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button for at least 3 seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash.
  • NOTE: HP Tango printers: Press and hold the Wireless and Power buttons on the back of the printer for 5 seconds. The Edge lighting flashes blue to indicate the printer is in WPS mode.

On the router, press and hold the WPS button for 3 to 5 seconds or until it shows that the WPS connection process has started.

NOTE: The printer stops searching for a WPS connection two minutes after the wireless button is pressed. If you were unable to press the WPS button within that timeframe, attempt these steps again.

Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns solid.

  • Make sure the printer and the MAC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
  • Also, check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'.
  • The wireless status menu on your Mac should also give us quite a lot of information that would help us identify the issue. You can press and hold the option key on your keyboard and click the WiFi icon to get detailed information.

You may print a wireless test report

Make sure there is plain white paper in the input tray.

Touch and hold the Information button for 3 seconds.

All the control panel buttons light up.

At the same time, touch the Information and Resume buttons .

Perform a ping test to check the connectivity

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer by clicking on the Wireless icon on the printer
  2. On the MAC Go to Spotlight > search for Network utility > select Ping tab > enter the IP address of the printer in the box
  3. Check the second box that says Send only > 10 pings
  4. Click on ping > Check the results at the end if any packets are lost
  5. Note: There should be 0% packet loss, share the results in your next post.

For more info, refer to - No Connection after Router or Wi-Fi Settings Change

For Wireless Quick Start Guide,

  • Touch and hold the Information button for 3 seconds.
  • All the control panel buttons light up.
  • Touch the Information button . A Wireless Quick Start Guide prints.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
