My HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile printer has been sporadically printing oddly for some time.  Sometimes I open the panel blow in and it seems to work better, but that is no longer working so I did what I saw suggested and used the cleaning option under set up. I did that a few times with no difference. I changed the black ink cartridge, and it's still doing it. It skips lines or only partially prints them.

Hi @SteffToni

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile printer is experiencing issues such as skipping lines or partially printing them. Here are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue:

  • Check Ink Levels: Verify that your ink levels are sufficient. You can check the ink levels from the printer's control panel or using the HP Smart app.

  • Genuine HP Cartridges: Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges may cause print quality issues.

  • Printhead Cleaning: You mentioned using the cleaning option, but it might be beneficial to run it multiple times. Sometimes, stubborn clogs require several cleanings to clear out.

  • Ensure Proper Venting: For certain HP cartridges, the vent area might be clogged. Inspect the cartridges for any blocked vents, and clean them gently with a pin if necessary.

  • Printer Reset: Try resetting the printer. Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait for about a minute, and then plug it back in and turn on the printer.

  • Manual Cleaning: If automated cleaning is not effective, consider manually cleaning the printhead. For removable printheads, carefully clean them using distilled water and a lint-free cloth.

  • Print a Test Page: After performing these steps, print a diagnostic page or test page to see if the issue persists.

  • Firmware Update: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. HP occasionally releases updates that can improve print quality and address known issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
