HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer

My HP Officejet 4630 is not working at all. I was printing something off my phone wirelessly when all of a sudden it stopped and there was an error message on the printer. Unfortunately I did not write the message down. After that the printer went dead and won’t turn back on no matter what I do. I’ve checked fuses, moved the printer, and nothing seems to help. The power button just does not work. Any thoughts?

Hi @Allthatglam11

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Officejet 4630 is completely unresponsive. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to get it working again:

1. Check the Power Source and Cable

  • Ensure the power cable is properly connected to both the printer and the electrical outlet.
  • Test the power outlet by plugging in another device to make sure it's supplying power.
  • Inspect the power cord for any visible damage. If the cord appears damaged, you may need to replace it.
  • If you’re using a power strip or surge protector, plug the printer directly into the wall outlet to rule out any issues with the power strip.

2. Power Reset

  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds to ensure any residual power is drained.
  • After waiting, plug the printer back in and try turning it on.

If this doesn't work, try the following:

  • Press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds while the printer is unplugged (to discharge any leftover power).
  • After releasing the button, plug the printer back in and try turning it on again.

3. Check the Printer’s Control Panel and Display

  • Look for any lights or messages on the control panel that could give you a clue about the error.
  • If the screen is completely blank, it's possible the printer is experiencing a hardware failure.

4. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Sometimes, performing a hard reset can help to reset any internal systems that may be causing the issue.
    • Unplug the printer from the power source.
    • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
    • Release the power button, then plug the printer back in and try turning it on.

I hope this helps.
