Hi @Barb196 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Officejet 4635 e-All-in-One Printer will not power on after a power outage, the issue might be related to the power supply or internal electrical components. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue:

1. Check the Power Source:

  • Ensure the wall outlet is working:
    • Plug another device (like a lamp or phone charger) into the same outlet to verify it has power.
    • If the outlet is not working, try resetting your circuit breaker or using a different outlet.

2. Inspect the Power Cord and Adapter:

  • Look for visible damage (frayed wires, burnt marks) on the power cord or adapter.
  • If damaged, replace it with an HP-compatible power cord.

3. Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect the printer's power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait 2–3 minutes to allow any residual charge to dissipate.
  • Reconnect the power cord securely to both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Press the Power button to try turning it on.

4. Test with a Direct Connection:

  • Avoid using power strips, surge protectors, or extension cords.
  • Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet, as power strips can sometimes block sufficient voltage after a surge.

5. Check for LED or Button Activity:

  • Observe the power button or any lights on the printer:
    • If there's no response at all, it might indicate a power supply or internal hardware issue.

6. Try a Different Power Cord or Adapter:

  • If you have another HP printer with a similar power cord or adapter, test using that to rule out a faulty power supply.

7. Perform a Factory Reset (if the printer powers on briefly):

  • If the printer shows signs of life but doesn't fully power up, you may need to perform a factory reset. Let me know if it powers on temporarily, and I can guide you through the reset process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
