Bob, I downloaded the firmware and it says it is already up to date so I guess my latest re-installation of HP4655 must have included the firmware update.

I think since this problem appears to be specific to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, I will uninstall and re-install it.  Couldn't hurt.

I just read the notation of giving a "thumbs up" if I find the answer helpful.  I did not notice before so this is my first "thumbs up".  You deserve many kudos and thumbs up.  Thank you.

Bob, uninstalling and re-installing Adobe Acrobat Reader DC WORKS.

Thanks for all your help and efforts.

I uninstalled and re-installed once before and it didn't work.

I don't care why it didn't work before.  It's working now.  🙂

Have a wonderful evening.  You are fantastic.

I downloaded the Officejet 4655 driver and installed it an printed from Reader DC without any issues using my Officejet Pro 8600 with the 4655 driver.

I am about out of ideas, but I do wonder about a couple things:  please go to control panel. devices and printers.  Right click on the Officejet 4650 series printer and select Printer Properties, Ports.  Is the checked port a WSD port? I have seen some cases where a  WSD port is problematic, changing to a standard TCP/IP port and assigning a static IP address has solved some issues.

Have you always been using the same PDF file for testing?  If so I would suggest trying a different one - just to make sure the file is not the issue.

I had started my last response before your post, I did not see that your issue was resolved until after it posted.

I am glad things are working, that was a strange one - you expect installed programs to just work :-).  I did send you a private message, click here to get to the private message system:  https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
