I am using an HP6970 and trying to print a pdf that has a watermark or background below the text.  The printer is printing out the entire page all black.  The page is supposed to be white with a watermark / design below the text.   I am using a Mac.  The firmware and apps are all up to date.  The Mac system is also up to date.  How can I print properly?  7PW+clC7Sa+FBJHti%Q3lA.jpg

@edieedie, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Which application are you trying to print from?

Have you tried using the Preview app?

Meanwhile, print it as an image- https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/quick-fix-print-pdf-image.html(This is a third-party link. Please do not click on any ad, image, download, popup or link or anywhere else as this is a third-party link meant only for viewing information).

Keep me posted for further assistance.

I’m using Adobe pdf to print the document on my computer. Print preview shows the pages as they should look. It looks normal.  But when I go to print it comes out all black.

Thanks for replying!

ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:

Update printer firmware

Update software on Mac

Remove and add the printer

Click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences.

Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.

Click the name of your printer, click the Minus sign, and then delete the printer.

Select printer and click the minus sign

Click the Plus sign, and then click Add Printer or Scanner.

Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select AirPrint

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

Click Add to add the printer to the list.

Try to print.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
