HP 7520 printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I would like to print some photos (recipes, for instance) to REGULAR paper (not photo paper). I have seen tips that say to change the Source (for paper) from “automatic” to “tray”. But I cannot locate this setting. I go into printer preferences on my desktop and cannot see where to make the change.

Any ideas?

Thank  you.

Yes, you can print on regular paper from your iOS device.

Refer to the document HP Printers - Install and Use the HP Smart App (Android, Apple iOS, iPadOS) for help.

@roxann1, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I see that you are trying to print photos on a regular paper, this needs no changes to be made on tray settings. You can just give the print command and it should automatically print.

However, if you'd like to change the settings, follow the steps below-

Paper size, type, and tray settings help ensure the printer properly handles and scales the print job to the paper. Paper type and size are included in some Printing Shortcuts, if available.

NOTE:

When loading paper into the input tray, look for a prompt to confirm the paper type and size you loaded if your printer has a text or touchscreen control panel.

The table below will help you with the locations where you can change the settings-

Refer to the document HP Printers - Print Driver Settings Guide (Windows) for additional help.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for your reply.

Re: Your first suggestion: There is no option when I give the PRINT command. If I am printing a photo the printer  automatically tries to grab paper from the photo tray (but there is none there because I want to print on regular paper).

Your second suggestion (changing the settings): You have not told me WHERE to find these setting options. I have already looked under in the Manage your device Area for the printer (on my desktop) and I do not see any options that are like those you are referring to.

Please advise. Thank you.

Sorry fo the confusion. Now I understand that the options suggested were for printing a photo on regular paper from a desktop. But what I am trying to do is print a photo on regular paper (not photo paper) that originates from my iPad or iPhone.

Thank you.

Thanks for replying!

Are you trying to use the HP Smart App to print or directly printing from your iOS device?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

I would like to print directly from my iOS device. I have the HP Smart app and know how to print photos on regular paper with that. But is it possible to print on regular paper directly from an iOS device?

Thank you.
