Hi @Larry3266,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can imagine how frustrating it must be to start your day with a printer that freezes up and throws an unfamiliar 008E1E18 error, especially when you're trying to get urgent print jobs out. Let's work through this together.

What Does Error 008E1E18 Mean?

This error typically points to a firmware or internal communication issue within the HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 printer. It can freeze the printer and block all print jobs, even after restarting or disconnecting from the internet.

Recommended Steps to Fix It

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  5. Turn the printer back on.

Step 2: Update Firmware via HP App

Sometimes, outdated firmware causes these errors.

  1. Download or open the HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site on your Windows 11 PC.
  2. Add your printer if not already been added.
  3. Go to Printer Settings → Advanced Settings → Tools → Printer Updates.
  4. Install any available updates.

Step 3: Reset Network Settings

If the error persists:

  1. On the printer control panel, go to Settings → Network Setup → Restore Network Settings.
  2. Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the HP app.

Step 4: Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

The HP app includes a built-in tool to automatically fix common issues.

Open HP app → Click “Printer Settings” → Select “Diagnose & Fix”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
