Hi @Colin47,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130 is printing rich browns and greens, you can adjust the color settings to achieve a more balanced print. Here are some steps to help you correct the color output:

1. Check Printer Settings

  • Print Quality Settings:
    1. Open the document you want to print.
    2. Go to File > Print.
    3. Select your printer and click on Printer Properties or Preferences.
    4. Look for Print Quality settings and ensure it’s set to Normal instead of Best or Draft.

2. Calibrate the Printer

  • Some printers have a calibration option to improve color accuracy:
    1. Go to the printer's control panel.
    2. Navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Calibrate.
    3. Follow the prompts to complete the calibration process.

3. Adjust Color Settings

  • Use the HP Smart App:
    1. Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
    2. Select your printer and go to Print Settings.
    3. Look for color options, and consider adjusting the settings for specific colors or saturation.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware:
    • Go to the HP support website, enter your printer model, and check for any firmware updates.

5. Print Color Test Page

  • Print a test page to evaluate color output:
    1. From the printer control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report.
    2. Check the color blocks to see if any specific colors are overly saturated.

6. Try Different Paper

  • The type of paper you use can affect color output. Make sure you are using paper designed for your printer, such as photo paper for photo prints.

7. Adjust Color Management in Software

  • If you’re printing from software like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator:
    • Check the color management settings and adjust them according to your needs.
    • Ensure that the correct color profile is selected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Rachael

I tried looking for the colour options but it looks like my printer does not support this option.

I set the print quality to normal.

I chose Photoshop manages the colours

! updated my drivers but the biggest difference came when I experimented with the printer profile. The difference in the photographs was startling,  but i did find some that resolved the issue.

I must admit that I haven't been using HP paper but I have now ordered some and hopefully the results will result in further improvement.

Many thanks for the support
