Hi @Pb680,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8625 is displaying a "Printer Failure" message after installing new ink, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Check the Ink Cartridges
Reinstall Ink Cartridges:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the ink cartridge access door and remove all the ink cartridges.
- Inspect the cartridges for any protective tape or packaging that might still be attached and remove it.
- Reinsert the cartridges firmly into their respective slots.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges:
- Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
- Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
3. Check for Obstructions and Clean Contacts
Inspect for Obstructions:
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams, foreign objects, or obstructions inside the printer.
- Remove any debris carefully.
Clean Ink Cartridge Contacts:
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer.
- Allow the contacts to dry for a few minutes before reinstalling the cartridges.
4. Update Firmware and Software
Update Printer Firmware:
- Visit the HP Support website and check for any firmware updates available for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8625 printer. Firmware updates can resolve bugs and improve printer performance.
Update Printer Software:
- Ensure you have the latest version of the printer software installed on your computer. You can download the latest drivers and software from the HP Support website.
5. Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults
- Factory Reset:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the "Setup" menu.
- Select "Printer Maintenance" or "Tools".
- Choose "Restore" or "Reset" to factory defaults. This will reset the printer's settings to the original factory configuration.
If you have tried all the above steps and the printer still shows a "Printer Failure" message, it may indicate a hardware issue
