On the inside from of the tray there is a blue button press and hold while you pullll the tray to set to legal or push in on the tray to return to letter.

Thanks for trying to help me. I do not have a blue button to press. I am able to move the tray to 8 x 14 size but generally use regular 8 1/2 x 11.
I have attached 3 photos that show what I am saying:
1. The empty paper tray shows no blue button just a gray one that lengthens the paper tray.
2. The paper tray with 8 1/2 x 11 paper - you can see how loose it sits in the tray.
3. The paper tray shows the regular paper not resting against the back of the tray.
I am afraid that the paper will slide around since this is not a snug fit.
My older 8715 tray stays snug against the paper.
Thanks for your help,
Sandy

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.
I do not have a solution for your concern.

The drawer as illustrated in the user guide does, in fact, somewhat resemble the drawer assembly for this printer model.
True - the color of the extender button in the tray is gray.
Drawer Assembly
What is missing?
Perhaps more significant than an illustration in the manual is the lack of a paper "snug" button in the drawer assembly.
What?
In fact, there is a paper "snug" button is present in the "main drawer" assembly used in both the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 and the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e :

HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 drawer assembly (I did not find a photo of the part - quickly abandoned the search as unimportant)

Does the "better designed" drawer assembly built for the 9025 series fit in the 9015e?
No idea.
I don't have a way to test.
What else?
DYI idea - FYI only
Make / create a tiny "snug" barrier for the drawer you do have and securely attach it to the inside of the drawer to the right of the gray extender button. Place the little paper snug block where the little barrier keeps the paper from sliding to the front of the drawer and does not prevent the drawer from being extended / closed / adjusted. True, the barrier does have to be removed -- so, you know, no glue.
