I recently installed a new HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e multifunction via USB direct to my computer. One year old Dell Optiplex 5090 (sorry, don't mean to cuss) running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. No HP Smart, and I downloaded the Easy Start software pack to run it. Everything I print from a file comes out with the image (text, graphic, chart, whatever) being rotated slightly clockwise on the paper. For example, along the left side, it may measure 10mm from paper edge to image border at the lower corner and 12mm in at the upper corner. This happens regardless of the file type or source. If I copy a page that was printed elsewhere, it sometimes comes out a hair off but mostly square (a function of how squarely the copied page was scanned, I think).
I have tried different paper, and checking the paper tray for alignment. I have run the Align Printhead function, but it prints the test page crooked. The same files that I print on my older HP 8710 come out square.
Any ideas, anyone?

Hi @hawkeye357,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP9015e printer is printing crooked on the page, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check the paper alignment: Make sure that the paper is properly aligned in the paper tray. Adjust the guides to fit the paper size and ensure that the paper is snug against them. Also, check the paper for any creases or wrinkles that could cause it to feed incorrectly.
- Clean the rollers: Over time, the printer rollers can become dirty or worn, which can cause them to feed the paper crookedly. To clean the rollers, turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Then, remove the paper tray and gently wipe the rollers with a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with water or rubbing alcohol.
- Check for debris: Sometimes small pieces of paper or other debris can become stuck in the printer, causing it to feed the paper crookedly. To check for debris, open the printer cover and carefully remove any visible debris. You can also use compressed air to blow out any dust or debris that may be stuck in the printer.
- Calibrate the printer: Some printers have a calibration function that can help to correct any alignment issues. Check the printer's manual to see if it has this function, and follow the instructions to calibrate the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Alden4, thanks for your reply. I have tried all these things, with no change in the problem. It appears to print crooked only when printing from a file. If I do a copy, it basically duplicates the original with no problem, so I don't think it's a mechanical or paper problem. Say I need to print a template, such as a dozen blank work orders. I will select the file, then send it to the printer. They will consistently come out slightly crooked on the new 9015. The same file, when printed on the older 8710 will print straight on the page with even margins. If I take a straight printed page from the 8710, and attempt to copy it with the new 9015, it will copy and print it straight with even margins, basically duplicating the original.
I am using the EasyStart software (downloaded from HP a couple weeks ago) instead of the HP Smart App because I want this printer connected via USB directly to my computer, with no direct internet connection. I installed the latest firmware update last week, but again with no change.
When I was first setting up the 9015, I printed an alignment page, and I later noticed that it was a bit crooked on the page. I wondered whether that may have skewed the calibration process, so I rotated it slightly on the scanner glass when performing another alignment, so that the image would be straight when scanned, but it didn't make any difference in subsequent printings from a file. I had considered printing a calibration page with the 8710 and using it to calibrate the 9015, but because of this I don't think it would make a difference. I suspect it is something in the way this machine processes the image for placement on the page.
