Hi @KDEMUM,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY Photo 7858 printer is automatically canceling document copying, there could be several reasons behind this issue, including connectivity problems, outdated or corrupted printer drivers, and issues with the print spooler service. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem:

Connectivity Check: Ensure your printer is correctly connected to your network or directly to your computer. For wireless connections, restarting your router might help improve connectivity. If you're printing via Wi-Fi, try connecting through USB to see if it resolves the issue.

Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted drivers can lead to various printing issues. You can update your printer's drivers through the Device Manager on Windows or via the App Store updates on macOS. Additionally, you can directly download the latest driver from the HP website.

Restart Print Spooler: The print spooler service manages the printing process, and restarting it might resolve your issue. This can be done through the Windows Services menu. If the problem persists, clearing the print queue by stopping the Print Spooler service, deleting files in the %systemroot%/System32/spool/printers/ directory, and then starting the service again may help.

Antivirus Settings: Occasionally, antivirus software can interfere with printing processes. Try temporarily disabling your antivirus software to see if it resolves the issue. If it does, consider adding your printer software to the list of exceptions in your antivirus settings.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows Only): HP offers a free utility called HP Print and Scan Doctor that can help troubleshoot and fix printing and scanning problems. This tool checks for issues and fixes them automatically. However, it's only available for Windows users.

Set Printer as Default: If you have multiple printers connected, make sure your HP printer is set as the default. This can be adjusted in the Devices and Printers section of the Control Panel on Windows.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
