This is a follow-on to question "HPNetworkCommunicator.exe application error every 61 seconds," found at https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/HPNetworkCommunicator-exe-application-error-every-61-s...

I followed the instructions there, and the problem was resolved--until an hour later, when it recurred. I'm now getting 6 application errors in the event viewer application error log, after which there are no reports until exactly one hour later. HPNetworkCommunicatorCom.exe is NOT present in the Task Manager list of running applications (at least, not outside the few seconds of the errors--I can't be sure what's happening then, as it's so infrequent). The only HP application running (or at least, only application whose name starts with HP) is hpwuschd2.exe, which appears to be a software update checker. It has happened at exactly 40 minutes past the hour, every hour since 3:40 PM yesterday.

While this is much less of a problem than happening every minute, it is still a nuisance to deal with. I would appreciate further help.

Follow-up: At 40 minutes past the hour, the Task Manager briefly showed HP Customer Participation and HPNetworkCommunicator as active. After the errors were generated, both of those applications disappeared from the Task Manager list. I don't see any reference to HP Customer Participation in the event viewer log.

I turned off the HP Product Improvement Study in the HP Printer Assistant, and now all the errors seem to be gone. So at this point, I don't think anything further is needed, but I wanted to record the situation in case it may help someone else in the future.
