Hi!
I recently received a used HP Deskjet F4580 all-in-one wireless printer from a graduate at my university and I can't figure out how to set it up for printing. The person who gave it to me didnt have the USB connector anymore but they said I should be able to set it up without that as it is a wireless printer.
The problem is that all posts I've found on this issue said to either connect it manually to Wifi using a USB cord, press the WPS button on the router for a long time untill the printer automatically connects to the router (I tried this and nothing happened), or to press the Wireless button on the printer and then connect to the wireless connection it emits and then use this method. The issue in the last instance is that Even though I am able to get the wireless button flashing blue none of my wireless devices recognizes the printer as a wireless network (at least not as far as I've been able to figure out).
I've been trying to set it up since yesterday and I'm getting really mixed answers to what I should be doing. Can anyone please help me to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance

Hi, Thanks for your reply!
A friend of mine says they have the same printer so I could borrow the cable for the installation as a one time thing. Is the USB cable essential for every setup or is it only needed for the initial setup?
Just trying to figure out if it would be worth buying a cable for £5+??
