I discarded my "SETUP cartridges" when I first got my HP printer and, after doing a recent factory reset - which I now regret doing - I am now prompted to use the SETUP cartridges before I can move forward.  I'm stuck!  Can you please assist in helping me with instructions to bypass the setup cartridge error so I can use regular ink cartridges to complete my reset?  Thank you so much for your assistance.   Dawn

@DMC221,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

In order to provide you with the instructions to perform an advance reset on the printer. I would need to know the printer model number.

Please provide me with the printer product number?? Use this link to find it:  https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03754824  (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Waiting for your response!

Thank you 🙂

Do you mean to say there is no "bypass" option for this printer?  Your note (pasted in this message) below implies that I am seeking assistance with a "reset."  I already know there is a reset option because, regrettably, I used it (hit # and 9). . .And, as a result, I'm now stuck because the printer is now giving me an error message, indicating that I must insert the SETUP cartridges before I can move forward.  As explained in the history below, I no longer have the SETUP cartridges and am requesting that you please provide the bypass option (as all HP printers have - even the older models) so I can proceed, using regular HP cartridges with my printer.  I've of course had this printer for a while, along with a host of other HP products (entire family has HP), and I'd like to continue using the printer which is excellent condition other than it is now requesting the SETUP cartridges.

Can you please assist?  Sending me off to the HP support line is not the easiest nor best customer solution.  In fact, as you know, they will simply try to sell me another printer - which I don't want/need - and add to the WASTELAND of discarded HP electronics hurting our environment.  Please help.  What is the bypass option so I can get around the SETUP cartridge roadblock and continue happily using my HP printer?  I look forward to your customer focused response.

Thank you,

Dawn

I'm afraid there is no reset option available for this printer. I would recommend you contact our HP support team for further assistance.    HP support team can be reached on this link.   Take care and have a great day!   Cheers
