I have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed, it works well until I want to print something, My OfficeJet will print from everywhere else but Adobe, doesn't even give me an error seems to think I've printed and then doesn't show up in the print queue. I've check that I have the lastest drivers and used all the other trouble shooting ideas I found. I've tried saving the file different ways and no luck.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Hi @girlkoenen,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If your HP OfficeJet 6958 All-in-One Printer prints from all applications except Adobe Acrobat Reader, and the print job doesn’t appear in the print queue, it suggests a software-specific issue. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:
1. Check Adobe Acrobat Reader Settings
- Update Adobe Acrobat Reader: Ensure that you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates in Adobe Reader.
- Use Print as Image: Sometimes, complex PDFs can cause issues. Go to File > Print, then click on the Advanced button, and check the box for Print As Image. This can bypass certain issues that may be preventing the document from printing.
- Try a Different PDF: Open another PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and attempt to print it. This will help determine if the issue is with a specific PDF or with the application in general.
2. Reset the Print Preferences
- Open Adobe Acrobat Reader, go to Edit > Preferences > Documents, and then click on Restore Last Settings to reset your print preferences. This can help resolve issues caused by incorrect settings.
3. Test Print to a Different Printer
- If possible, try printing the PDF to a different printer (even a virtual one like Microsoft Print to PDF). This helps to confirm if the issue is isolated to your HP OfficeJet 6958.
4. Check Printer Selection
- Ensure that the correct printer is selected in the Adobe Acrobat Reader print dialog. It’s possible the wrong printer or a virtual printer was accidentally chosen.
- Go to File > Print, and in the print dialog, make sure your HP OfficeJet 6958 is selected as the printer.
5. Reinstall Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader completely and then reinstall it. This can resolve any issues caused by a corrupted installation.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @girlkoenen,
Please find the next steps below.
6. Use an Alternative PDF Viewer
- As a temporary workaround, try printing the PDF using a different PDF viewer like Foxit Reader or your browser’s built-in PDF viewer.
7. Check for Software Conflicts
- Sometimes, antivirus or other security software can interfere with printing. Temporarily disable any such software and try printing the PDF again.
8. Run Adobe's Repair Tool
- Go to Help > Repair Installation within Adobe Acrobat Reader. This option can fix issues related to missing or corrupted files.
9. Try a Different Printer Driver
- If you’re still having issues, try changing the printer driver for your OfficeJet 6958. You can do this by:
- Going to Devices and Printers in Windows.
- Right-click on your printer and select Printer Properties.
- Under the Advanced tab, click New Driver and choose a generic HP driver or another suitable one to see if it resolves the issue.
If none of these solutions work, it might be worth reaching out to Adobe support as the issue appears to be isolated to the interaction between Adobe Acrobat Reader and your printer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
