Hi @Vic168,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP printer has a flashing light and the HP app shows that the printer setup is not finished, you can try these steps to resolve the issue.

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure that the printer has enough paper and ink/toner.
  • Verify that there are no paper jams or other obstructions.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart your computer or mobile device.

Recheck Connections:

  • Make sure that the printer is properly connected to your network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) or directly to your computer if using a USB connection.

Update HP Software:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your device.
  • Check for any firmware updates for your printer through the HP Smart app or HP’s official website.

Complete Setup Process:

  • Open the HP Smart app and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
  • If the setup process was interrupted, you might need to re-add the printer to the HP Smart app.

Reset Printer:

  • If the issue persists, consider performing a factory reset on your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
