HI @TinaBedekovic,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer isn't printing and you're seeing a "warranty expired" message, it suggests that the printer is no longer covered under warranty, but this typically should not prevent the printer from functioning. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer Status
- Error Messages: Look for any error messages or indicator lights on the printer. These can provide clues about the issue.
2. Inspect Printer Connections
- Power Supply: Ensure the printer is properly connected to a power source and turned on.
- Cables: Check that all cables (USB or network) are securely connected.
3. Check Printer Queue
- Clear Queue: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select See what's printing. Cancel any stuck print jobs.
4. Perform Basic Troubleshooting
- Restart Printer and Computer: Turn off both the printer and your computer. Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn them back on.
- Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer’s paper tray and any other compartments to ensure there are no paper jams.
5. Check Ink or Toner
- Ink/Toner Levels: Verify that there’s sufficient ink or toner in the printer. Replace cartridges if they are empty or low.
6. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Update Drivers: Go to the printer HP website, download the latest drivers for your printer model, and install them.
- Reinstall Drivers: Uninstall the current printer drivers from Control Panel > Devices and Printers, then reinstall them.
7. Run Printer Troubleshooter
- Windows Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, then select Printer and run the troubleshooter.
8. Check Printer Software
- Printer Software: If your printer came with software or if you have installed any printer utility software, open it and check for any maintenance or troubleshooting options.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
