My HP Envy 6458e makes a high pitched, extremely irritating noise for the WiFi connection. Does anyone know how to lower the tone or make it less noticeable.

Hi @Lisa430,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your HP Envy 6458e printer making a high-pitched noise related to the WiFi connection. To address this problem, you can try the following steps.

  • Placement: Ensure that the printer is placed in an open area with good ventilation. Avoid placing it near walls or other objects that might reflect or amplify the sound.
  • Update Firmware/Drivers: Check if there are any firmware or driver updates available for your HP Envy 6458e printer. Updating to the latest version may resolve compatibility issues causing the noise.
  • WiFi Signal Quality: Ensure that your printer is receiving a strong and stable WiFi signal. You can try moving the printer closer to the WiFi router or using a WiFi range extender to improve signal strength.
  • Printer Settings: Check the printer settings for any options related to noise reduction or power-saving modes. Adjusting these settings might help minimize the noise.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
