Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums. I read the post regarding assistance with checking ink levels of your printer’s ink cartridges. I will assist you and let’s get right to it. The diagnosis of the issue was perfect and is appreciated greatly.
Let me keep you posted about a few things here. This printer needs to be connected to a Windows-based computer or a MacBook to check the ink levels as it does not have a front panel or screen.
Let me gather some information for better clarity to assist you correctly?
- Did you check the printer’s user guide in this regard?
For a start let’s try these steps:
- First check the printer’s user guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04649797 and refer to page 38 for steps on how to do it. But it needs to be connected to a Windows Based computer or a MacBook to do this.
- Even to print a print quality report you need a MacBook or a Windows-Based machine. Print quality document: https://support.hp.com/za-en/product/hp-deskjet-2130-all-in-one-printer-series/7174550/model/7521801... refer to the section “Step 5: Check the estimated ink levels”
- This document: https://support.hp.com/za-en/product/hp-deskjet-2130-all-in-one-printer-series/7174550/model/7521801... (HP Printers - How to Check Ink or Toner Levels) also requires a machine to be connected.
- As all 3 documents refer to a machine to be connected via a USB connection to the printer, I suggest that you connect it to a MacBook if you have one or someone’s notebook to check the ink levels of the cartridges.
- I am being honest here by keeping your best interest in mind.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help
Thank you and have a great day ahead. 🙂
