Hi @WG-Florida_2023,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your VPN might be interfering with your printer's communication. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue without having to close your VPN.
Check Printer Network Configuration:
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer. You can verify the network settings on your printer's control panel or web interface.
Use the Printer's IP Address:
- Instead of relying on automatic printer discovery, add your printer manually using its IP address. You can find the IP address on the printer's network settings page. On your computer:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a printer > The printer that I want isn't listed > Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname.
- Enter the IP address and follow the prompts to complete the setup.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest drivers for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e. Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers.
Configure VPN Split Tunneling:
- Some VPNs allow you to configure split tunneling, which lets you specify which applications or traffic should bypass the VPN. Check your VPN settings to see if you can configure split tunneling to exclude your printer traffic.
Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings:
- Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software isn't blocking the printer. You might need to add an exception for your printer or for the printer's IP address.
Reboot Devices:
- Try rebooting your printer, router, and computer. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
Use HP Smart App:
- The HP Smart app can help with printer setup and configuration. Make sure you have it installed and use it to add your printer and configure its settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
