Having problems with my genuine printer cartridges not being accepted as compatible. How do I find out what region my printer is? And what region my printer cartridges are? Can I change the region so my cartridges work? I have two brand new black cartridges that don't work. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Open HP Smart from your start menu.
If your printer is not listed click the plus sign and follow the steps on the screen to add it.
Double-click your printer icon at the top and click on Supported Cartridges.
What values are shown under both the Installed and Supported sections? can you see the same zone listed? (e.g. Z10, Z20)
What country are you from?
Click the Yes button to reply that the response was helpful or to say thanks.

Hi and thank you for your message. My printer shows shows supported cartridges are Z10. Do you know how to check the region on the cartridges themselves? I can't find anything on the cartridges themselves that make any sense. I am from the US. I bought the printer when I was living in the UAE 7+ years ago. I have always purchased ink for the printer in the US as it was less expensive. Now I live in Malta, yet another region, Europe, and now my cartridges that I bought from the US don't work. However, from the same batch of ink, I just installed all the new color catridges and they work fine. None of this makes sense. As for having the region changed, I was told that HP won't change regions for printers that are out of warranty or above a certain age.Thank you for your help.
