It's been a while since I used my printer and I noticed it's been offline. Probably has been for a year. Now, I'm trying to reconnect it. The wifi setting on my iphone is asking for my printer's (Envy 6052) password. I don't even know it had one. I saw another post that suggested to use "12345678" as the default password. It didn't work.

Hi @Paultara97,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To find or reset your Envy6052 printer's password, you can follow these steps.
- Look for the default password: Your Envy6052 printer might have come with a default password. Check the user manual or documentation that came with the printer to see if there is a default password listed.
- Try the default password: If there is a default password listed, try entering it to see if it works.
- Access the printer's web interface: Open a web browser on your computer and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. This should bring up the printer's web interface.
- Log in to the web interface: If you haven't changed the password, the default username and password should be "admin" and "password" respectively. If you have changed the password, enter your new password.
- Reset the password: Once you are logged in to the printer's web interface, look for a "Settings" or "Administration" tab. There should be an option to change the password. Follow the on-screen instructions to set a new password.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Paultara97,
Thank you for your response,
If the printer is not connected to your network or computer, it may not have an IP address assigned to it. However, if the printer is connected to a network, you can usually find its IP address by following these steps.
- On your computer, open the Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac).
- Click on Printers or Print & Scan.
- Find your printer in the list of printers, and click on it.
- Look for the printer's properties or settings. You may need to right-click on the printer and select Properties or Printer Properties.
- Look for a tab or section labeled "Ports" or "Connections."
- Find the IP address listed next to the port or connection that the printer is using.
