Hi @Anita1987,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Turn the printer back on.
Check the Printhead Installation:
- Open the printer's cartridge access door.
- Lift the latch handle on the printhead assembly.
- Remove the printhead from its slot.
- Reinstall the printhead, ensuring it is correctly seated.
- Close the latch handle and the cartridge access door.
Clean the Printhead Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the cartridge access door and lift the latch on the printhead assembly.
- Gently remove the printhead.
- Use a clean, lint-free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water to clean the electrical contacts on the printhead.
- Also, clean the contacts inside the printer where the printhead is installed.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinstalling the printhead.
- Reinstall the printhead and ensure it is properly seated and latched.
- Close the printer and plug it back in, then turn it on.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges:
- Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP or counterfeit cartridges can cause compatibility issues.
- Replace any low or empty cartridges with new, original HP cartridges.
Align the Printhead:
- After reinstalling the printhead and cartridges, align the printhead by going to the printer's Setup menu.
- Select Tools, then select Align Printhead. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment process.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Download and install any available updates from the HP support website.
I hope this helps.
