New genuine HP 61 black ink cartidge gives "Incompatible cartridge" error on HP Envy 5530 printer. Followed HP instructions to reinsert, clean contacts, reboot printer multiple times without success. Old just emptied ink cartridge did not give error. Went out to Office Max, bought another genuine HP 61 black ink cartridge and it works fine.
I'd like to get a replacement from HP for the defective cartridge but have had no luck contacting HP. Was on hold for hours trying to contact customer service. The "Contact HP" link on HP web site is of no help either. Tried clicking "I have the same problem" on this HP community site on several previous similar threads but got no response from that either.
Is there anyone from HP customer service out there?

Hi! @MarkB10,
Is your printer connected to the internet?
I understand your concern and situation, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Instant Ink takes 3-7 business days to process a shipment and generate tracking once it is triggered by the algorithm
“Your Instant Ink account page has data on past deliveries and estimated shipments. It also helps you understand what state your cartridges are in based on HP’s data. Any issues will be shown with steps to fix. Please check your account page to see the latest cartridge information by signing into your account at “instantink.com

Also, if the issue still persists, please share us few details through a private message. So I can check the account details and ship you the replacement ink cartridges.

Dear A4Apollo,
Thank you for your response. I don't know how the word Instant Ink got in the title of my post, as I did not type that, but that is leading to some confusion, as I am not signed up for the Instant Ink service. I have been buying replacement ink cartidges at an office supply store (such as Staples, Office Depot, etc). The defective cartridge in question has a date on it of 2020/07/21 Y and a number 241550915161726. I don't recall what store I purchased it at. It was new, I just opened the package when I installed it and it never worked so it should be totally full of ink.
I have a receipt from Office Dpeot for the new cartrdige I had to buy that did work properly. It cost me $24.99 + tax.
Is there a way I can send the defective ink cartridge back to HP to get a refund or replacement?
Thank you.
sincerely,
Mark Braaten
