I am unable to print anything from my computer.  It keeps saying the printer is in "Error State".  How do I correct this?

@32jillybean1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding "Error State" on HP ENVY Inspire 7255e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e printer displays an "Error State" message, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

1. Check for Error Messages:

  • Look for any specific error messages displayed on the printer's screen or your computer.

2. Restart the Print Spooler:

  • Windows 11:
    1. Search for "Services" in the Windows search bar and open it.
    2. Scroll down to find Print Spooler.
    3. Right-click Print Spooler and select Restart.

3. Verify Printer Status:

  • Ensure that the printer is not paused or offline.
  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your printer and ensure Use Printer Offline and Pause Printing are not selected.

4. Set Printer as Default:

  • Ensure your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e is set as the default printer.
  • In Devices and Printers, right-click your printer and select Set as Default Printer.

5. Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • Print a Wireless Test Report from the printer's control panel to diagnose network issues.

6. Clear the Print Queue:

  • Right-click the printer icon in Devices and Printers and select See what's printing.
  • Cancel all documents in the print queue.

7. Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer, computer, and router. Wait for 30 seconds, then turn them back on.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
