Usually when you enrol your printer, the free trial get activated automatically and it doesn't require any code. Don't worry about the free trial. We're here to help you.

could you help me with the screenshot, from where you got the information about the free trial. As this will help me in further assisting you.

@cmichelle17,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I understand you are in need of support,

I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

Could you let me know when did you purchase this printer? Have you tried to enroll the printer? Do you get any error message while activating the free trial?

If you haven't enrol your printer, I would suggest you go ahead and enrol your printer by following these steps below:

Some of our Instant Ink Printers come with Trial Promotions.
To Activate this, Follow the steps below. You don't need a promo code.

1.       Go to 123.hp.com, type your printer model, click Begin, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest full feature software.

2.       Accept the prompts to connect your printer and turn on Web Services. Web Services allows your printer to communicate securely over the Internet with HP Instant Ink.

After the printer software installation completes, an option to continue online or an Activate window to enroll in Instant Ink should display.

If the activate screen displays, click Yes, activate, and then continue to the next step.

If the activate screen does not display or you encounter an issue, go to Enrolling in HP Instant Ink and follow the steps to enroll the printer.

Once this is done, the trial months will be added to your account.

Here's a related HP Forums post which seems to have helped others: Click here.

Hope this answers your question.

Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

I received the printer as a gift. I registered it on 12/30 I believe and signed up for the instant ink on the 5th.  I've done all of the steps listed.  Set it up, downloaded the software.  The only thing different is I didn't activate the instant ink right away.  I signed up for that on the 5th and all it shows is the $15 prepaid card.  My offer states that I have both the prepaid as well as the additional 3 months free trial.

thank you
