My black ink won’t print so it’s been suggested that I remove the print head and clean it under running water, but I can’t figure out how to remove it. It’s attached to the printer with a white band.

Thie printhead on HP Deskjet 3520 Printers is not a removable part.
Clean the printhead automatically
Run an automatic utility to clean the printhead.
-
Load plain, white paper into the paper tray.
-
On the printer control panel, press the Down Arrow
to select Settings, and then press OK.
-
Press the Down Arrow to select Tools, and then press OK.
-
Press the Down Arrow to select Clean Printhead, and then press OK.
The printer cleans the printhead, and then prints a test page.
-
Review the print quality on the test page.

Apparently HP still has no solution for this problem. I have searched back to 2014 and all of the answers have been the same - and none of them has worked. All I've found is people who are fed up and throwing away their printers. Mine has worked great for 5 years and I really don't want to dump it just because the black ink stopped printing. Any other suggestions as I have tried everything here multiple times - cleaning printheads, realigning printheads - doesn't work because black does not print, only colors - cleaning the vent, replacing cartridges - nothing works. Why would this happen suddenly when everything has been working perfectly for years?
