Hello,

  I am currently in Western Europe and would like to install an HP 301 black ink cartridge on a Deskjet 2050 printer that I purchased in India. (In India the printer worked fine with HP 802 cartridges). At present, the printer throws an error indicating that HP 301 cartridges are not supported. Would you be able to let me know how to reset the region settings on the printer so that I can install my new HP 301 cartridge?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue. The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device. I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset, and re-initialize the printer. 

 

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
