When I try to print from the HP smart app on my Envy 5020 I get a pop up to 'click here to review privacy statement'. Nothing happens when I click it. Tried to look through privacy settings on the app but can't find anywhere to approve this

Hi @Lbmk ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your frustration with the non-responsive privacy statement pop-up on the HP Smart app for your Envy 5020 printer. Here are a few things you can try:

Check App Updates:

  • Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device.
  • Search for "HP Smart" and tap on it.
  • If an update is available, tap "Update." Install the latest version and try printing again.

Clear App Cache and Data:

  • Go to your Android device's Settings.
  • Find "Apps & notifications" or a similar section.
  • Locate "HP Smart" in the list of apps.
  • Tap on "Storage" or "App storage."
  • Tap on "Clear cache" and then "Clear data" (make sure to note any login details as this will erase them).
  • Relaunch the HP Smart app and try printing again.

Reinstall the HP Smart App:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart app by tapping and holding the app icon and selecting "Uninstall."
  • Restart your Android device.
  • Reinstall the HP Smart app from the Google Play Store.
  • Try printing again after setting up the app.

Review HP Privacy Statement Online:

  • While the in-app link might not be working, you can access the HP privacy statement directly through a web browser. This will give you a clear understanding of the data collected and its usage:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
