I just bought the Envy 4510 yesterday and I can't find info in any of the material or online about how to turn it off at night, when I'm going to be away or simply not use it for sometime.

There is a sleep mode & a auto-off mode on this printer.

Here is the users manual which explains the two features. (see pg.11)

I tried this last night, but this morning both the power light and the little blue light next to the screen were still on.  I tried again after seeing your note, but it still doesn't turn off completely.

Thanks, but the manual doesn't seem to address my problem.   I've tried pushing the power button to no avail.

Thanks.  This time it turned off.  I guess I didn't hold it off long enough previously.

@willowelc44, make sure to print something at least once a week to prevent the printheads from drying out.

Thanks for the advice.  No problem keeping the printheads from drying out; I do a good bit of printing everyday.  I just like to turn it off when I'm not going to be using it, like overnight.

Actually, turning off at night and on in the morning will make the printer perform a cartridge maintenance cycle which uses a little ink each time.  Best to let the printer go into sleep mode so this does not occur.
