Alas it seems to me that these new printers are going backwards in their technology.

Yes, and I could not even find the software to install for the HP deskjet 3740 for  windows 8.  It chose a driver with windows update.

I have office jet 6600 printer. How do I print on two sides of a page

For portrait orientated docs.

1: Press 'Print' link

2: under 'Pages to print' press 'more options'

3: Change 'All Pages In Range' to 'Odd Pages Only'

4: press 'print'

5: Remove output pages then reverse the order so that p.1 goes at bottom and highest number page to top

6: Rotate pages 180 degrees keeping print side up and replace in print paper tray so text is right way up looking from in front of printer.

7: Repeat steps 1 & 2 and then change 'All Pages In Range' to 'Even Pages Only' and press print.

It 's a bit fiddly but seems to be the only way to achieve a result. I haven't yet needed to do any double sided lanscape printing but if I do I'll relay the procedure to this forum.

Unfortunately this only work if you are COPYING something.  I am trying to print a 74 page section of my Database Management textbook which they supply to us only ONLINE.  So freaking annoying.  >.> So thanks for the suggestion, but this won't work for me.

For the love of baby Jesus, this is so frustrating.  I don't have a "more options" under the pages to print section and I JUST bought this printer in January of this year. I was looking for that option to print only odd numbered pages as well, and for the life of me, I can't find it.  Grrrrrrrrr

Can you save the pages you want to print into a document?  Maybe printing a document instead of from a browser might give you the More Options button.  I have it in a PDF document.  In Word 2013 it looks different and is under Print and Settings.

Printing double sided from long document online: First you need to find a way to save the file as .doc or .pdf to your pc. If there is no option to save or copy you may need to download and install freely available pdf software that appears on your pc as an alternative printer (I use 'Cute pdf'): print the docucument using the pdf printer simulator - you will probably need to do this by pressing the 'control + p' keys simultaneously and selecting the pdf printer - and then save the pdf file to your desktop. You can then go through the procedure for printing documents double sided as outlined in my previous communications.

If you haven't already done so I recommend downloading and installing 'HP Print and Scan Doctor' and 'HP Printer Diagnostic Tools' from the HP website. They should help you to keep your printer drivers and software up-to-date.
