HP Officejet 7500A
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello
Here I saw that one member ( Sandytechy20 ) had a solution for restoring the firmware for this HP 7500A printer but he didn't show it publicly! He sent it in private messages to another member who had the same problem as me.
So I'm really curious how this printer can restore the old factory firmware?
Because I have that printer whose firmware was updated by mistake and since then it refuses replacement cartridges!
HP refuses to give any instructions. Unbelievable!!!
But they don't refuse to send an update that will disable the use of replacement cartridges.
I've tried everything I know to the max... I even found a file on the internet with the old firmware but it's impossible to restore this printer to the old version! There's no option... it doesn't exist!?
The USB port is only used for uploading images for printing.. and there's no option to upload the firmware file via the web service in the menu!?
Now I'm really curious how this is possible with this printer? As the member "Sandytechy20" said and sent to another member.
Is it possible to do something through the service menu...or to restore the old firmware?
If this Sandytechy20 member, who introduced himself as an employee at HP, sees this and probably knows how to restore the old firmware for this printer, I would like to ask him to help me too.
Thanks in advance to everyone.

Hi @cmykink001

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Downgrading firmware can be challenging, as HP typically does not officially support firmware downgrades once an update has been installed.

Keep in mind that reverting firmware may impact other printer functions, and HP does not recommend or officially support this process.

Firmware updates are designed to enhance printer functionality, security, and compatibility, and reverting to an older version could potentially affect the printer's performance or introduce vulnerabilities. As such, HP has implemented safeguards to ensure users benefit from the most current firmware available.
