HP ENVY Inspire 7920e All-in-One Printer

How can I enable borderless printing on the ENVY Inspire 7920e using plain paper?

I can only seem to enable borderless printing when I select photo paper.  If I select borderless & plain paper, an error message pops up saying "Selection conflicts were encountered.  Would you like them auto-resolved?  Borderless Printing: On Paper Type: Plain Paper".

However, if I print on plain paper with the photo paper option selected, the paper comes out crumpled.

The primary reason I chose this printer was to allow me to do borderless printing on regular A4 paper.  I upgraded from an older HP multifunction printer which allowed me to do this without any issues.

Please let me know how I can resolve this situation.

Thank you.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

If you have not done so,

Install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

Installing the full software provides access to the printer features.

Ask if you need help to install the full driver.

Will installing the full driver make a difference in this instance?

Unlikely, though it is better to have the full driver installed than not.

In general, conflicts indicate an unsupported option or combination of options during job setup.

True:  Paper Size, Type, Weight, and combination imitations are printer model and printer software dependent

Unfortunately, the Specifications do not indicate which paper types are compatible with Borderless printing.  Reference:  Product Specifications for the HP ENVY Inspire 7920e All-in-One Printer (242Q0B)

Conflict Error

The plain paper and borderless combination is likely not supported on this printer.

That said, the printer also supports Brochure / Professional paper options.

These paper types (unless stated otherwise) might be compatible with Borderless Printing.

General Example - HP Smart - Simple Photo Print - A4

Note the example shows A4 and Photo paper - try A4 and Brochure paper.

True -- You might not be able to select Brochure / Professional paper unless you are actually using that paper type.  Why?  Brochure / Professional paper is typically 180 gsm, much heavier than normal paper -- the printer might sense the difference and jam, balk, refuse to print.
