How to read the date on the back of the HP 02 Ink Cartridge Package?

     100714

Is this correct . . . Month 10, Day  07, Year 14

or, as one person told me,

Year 10,  Month 07,  Day 14

Please advise the correct to read this date on HP products

Hi Ray333,

Thank you for using HP products.

The date stated on the ink cartridge 100714 (2010, July, 14) which is the end of warranty date in YYYYMMDD format as shown here.

For some of the older packaging box, you may noticed there is "install by" date, it would be 6 months before the warranty expiry date on the cartridges.

Hope this information helps.

Thank You, wukong33, . . .

. . . for clarifying the reading of the date on the back of the HP 02 Cartridges.

You also stated, . . .

For some of the older packaging box, you may noticed there is "install by" date, it would be 6 months before the warranty expiry date on the cartridges.

However, . . .

a seller on ebay stated that the cartridge would still be good for 24 months

after the date on the back of the HO 02 packge.

Obviously, that seller on ebay is misinformed and the selling of expired HP cartridges

may cause a lot of grief to unsuspected buyers on ebay.

HP would be wise and would be very helpful to owners of HP Printers

if they would provide this essential information on their website on FAQ's.

Again, Thank You, wukong33, for answering my question.

Ray
