How do I adjust ink volume on the printer? I able able to adjust the ink volume with a slider on an OS laptop but unable to on windows. I have HP Smart installed. Is there a different driver that I need? I have also checked the preferences and advanced and it does not give me an option to change ink volume, only print quality.

@xphoenix67, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I see that you'd like to control the ink usage on the printer, check for the below options on the HP Smart App-

Print quality: Measured in print resolution dots per inch (DPI). Higher DPI produces clearer and more detailed prints, but slows print speed and may use more ink or toner. See printer specifications for print speeds (measured in pages-per-minute).

  • Draft: Lowest DPI typically used when ink cartridge levels are low or when high-quality prints are not needed

  • Econo mode: Uses less toner per page and reduces print quality for printing drafts or proofs

  • FastDraft: Produces draft quality at the fastest printing speed

  • FastRes: Options include a number indicating DPI

  • Normal or Everyday: Default quality setting suitable for most print jobs

  • Best: Better DPI than Normal

  • Max DPI: Highest DPI setting available

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
