Product: HP Officejet 5740 series
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

I have received advice on how to fix my  that stopped printing majenta with a new cartridge. After that, I inserted two additional cartridges, all new. Still, no maajenta. I have tried everything suggested, but how to clean the electrical contacts inside the cartridge which holds the ink cartridges. I really don't know what to clean, and the wird "electrical" scares me. Heop for an old lady, please.

I will try and assist.If the cartridges is removed on the front of the cartridges is golden contact points.Clean this with a moist soft cloth and let it dry.Then in the machine where these cartridges fit there is similar contacts.Just use the same method of cleaning these.There are also some help available on the internet how to clean print cartridges that can assist.Hope this will help

Sorry, this did not help. Two of my new cartridges came from the same place (Amazon). The third one came from a different company. Could all 3 possibly be no good? I hesitate to go buy another one just to try.
