Connecting an external DVD player to a Windows 11 computer using an HDMI cable might not be the most common method, as DVD players typically use other interfaces like USB or optical disc drives. However, if your external DVD player has an HDMI output and your computer has an HDMI input, you can follow these general steps:
Check Your Computer's Ports: Ensure that your Windows 11 computer has an HDMI input port. Most computers have HDMI output ports, but very few have HDMI input ports. If your computer lacks an HDMI input, you may need additional equipment like a video capture card.
Check External DVD Player Ports: Confirm that your external DVD player has an HDMI output port. If it does, you can use an HDMI cable to connect the DVD player to your computer.
Connect the HDMI Cable: a. Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI output port on your external DVD player. b. Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI input port on your Windows 11 computer.
Switch Input on Your Computer (if necessary): If your computer has an HDMI input, you may need to switch to the correct input source. This can usually be done through the display settings on your computer.
Power On the DVD Player: Ensure that your external DVD player is powered on.
Play the DVD: Open your preferred media player on your computer and attempt to play the DVD. The DVD player should recognize the external device if everything is connected correctly.
Please note that HDMI is primarily used for output from a device (like a computer) to a display (like a monitor or TV). If your external DVD player doesn't have an HDMI output, you might need additional hardware, such as a video capture card, to connect it to your computer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
