Hi,
Can anyone let me know if there's a way to specify the scale of the target printed area so that they are not consuming the entire page?
I tried both "Fit to page" and "Fill page" options in both Windows (from the Image Viewer app) and Android (13) in the photo viewing app, but both of these options rendered the QR code I wanted to print across the entire page :D!
I've attached screenshots showing my app and an idea of what I am trying to print.
Thanks,
Z

Hi @Zidecke,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To control the scale of the print area on your HP ENVY Pro 6430 All-in-One Printer and avoid having your printout consume the entire page, you can try the following steps.
From Windows:
Use the Print Settings in the Application:
- Open the image you want to print in the Windows Photo Viewer or any photo editing application (like Paint).
- Select Print from the File menu or press Ctrl + P.
- In the print settings window, look for an option labeled "Scale" or "Page Setup".
- Instead of "Fit to Page" or "Fill Page," look for an option to set a custom scale percentage (e.g., 80% or 70%).
- Adjust the scale to your preference and print.
Using Printer Properties:
- In the print settings, you can access Printer Properties or Preferences.
- Navigate to the Layout or Paper/Quality tab.
- Look for options related to scaling or resizing the print output. Set a specific percentage if available.
From Android:
Using the HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your Android device.
- Select your printer and tap on the Print Document or Print Photo option.
- When selecting the photo, look for settings related to print size or scale.
- Choose Custom Size or Scale if available, and set your desired dimensions.
Using Photo Viewing App:
- Open the image in your preferred photo viewing app.
- Tap on the print icon and select your printer.
- Look for a Scale option in the print settings, and set it to a percentage that fits your needs.
Note:
- Margins: Ensure your margins are set correctly, as large margins can affect how your content is printed.
- Preview: Always check the print preview before confirming the print job to ensure it meets your expectations.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
