I finally have a wireless printer 🙂  but every time I print, I  have to walk to the printer and click away the message "Connect printer to update HP Instant Ink status"   😞

I have disabled web services, checked printer date and time, cycled off/on.

I have never had an instant ink account; however, it's a secondhand printer so it's possible the previous owner did.  How can I permanently disable the Instant Ink message?

Thanks in advance.

MKazi,  I may have stumbled on a solution without having to bother the phone support team.  I thought I had tried everything, especially turning off web services, but this finally worked for me:

>>Settings/Web Services Settings     HP ePrint OFF   HP Printables OFF   Remove Web Services.

I can now print without getting the Instant Ink message.  🙂

Thanks for your time.

@wognath

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

MKazi is at your service.

I understand that you have an HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer that you have purchased from a previous user. The printer displays a message saying "Connect printer to update HP Instant Ink status".

Ideally, in such a case you will have to contact our HP instant ink phone support team. Let me know your country of residence. i'll search for the contact information.

Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂

Thanks, MKazi.  My country of residence is United States.   What information will be requested to solve this? What if I don't have it?

@wognath

You're welcome

I have sent you a private message with the instant ink phone number for United States.

The phone support team should be able to pull up the information using the printer's serial number.

Cheers! 🙂

Awesome. 🙂

Glad to hear that you were able to get rid of the message. And thanks for sharing the information on this platform.

Hope your printer remains healthy for a long time and serves you well.

Happy printing! 🙂
