HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer

Hi,

May someone advise how to disable double side printing on HP Envy 4520. I feel like i have tried everything including deselecting double side printing within printer settings, however still no luck.

Hi @FashionGuy25,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to disable double-sided printing on your HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer, you can follow these steps to ensure that the printer does not default to printing on both sides of the page:

Method 1: Change Printer Settings in Windows

Open the Print Dialog:

  • Open the document you want to print and go to the print menu (usually accessible via Ctrl + P or by selecting File > Print).

Select Your Printer:

  • Ensure that your HP ENVY 4520 is selected as the printer.

Open Printer Properties or Preferences:

  • Click on Printer Properties, Preferences, or Print Settings (the name may vary depending on the application you are using).

Locate the Two-Sided Printing Option:

  • In the print settings window, look for an option related to two-sided printing, duplex printing, or double-sided printing. This might be under a tab such as Layout, Finishing, or Features.

Disable Two-Sided Printing:

  • Set the option to Off, None, or One-sided, depending on what options are available.

Save Your Changes:

  • Click OK or Apply to save your settings, then proceed with printing your document.

Method 2: Set Default Printing Preferences

To ensure that all future print jobs default to single-sided printing, you can adjust the printer's default settings:

Open Devices and Printers:

  • Press Win + R, type control printers, and press Enter to open the Devices and Printers window.

Access Printer Preferences:

  • Right-click on your HP ENVY 4520 printer and select Printing Preferences.

Change the Default Print Settings:

  • Navigate to the Features, Layout, or similar tab where two-sided printing is listed.
  • Ensure two-sided printing is set to Off or One-sided.

Save and Apply Settings:

  • Click Apply and then OK to save your changes.

Method 3: Update Printer Drivers

If you have tried the above steps and still cannot disable double-sided printing, your printer drivers might need an update or reset:

Go to the HP Support Website:

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model.

Download and Install the Latest Drivers:

  • Find the latest drivers for the HP ENVY 4520 and download them.

Install the Driver:

  • Run the downloaded file to update or reinstall the printer drivers.

Restart Your Computer and Printer:

  • Restart both your computer and printer to ensure the changes take effect.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
