Hi @Cresence,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Let's fix your HP OfficeJet 3830 wireless printer so it can reconnect to the internet and print those USPS labels. Here's a step-by-step guide.
Check Your Wi-Fi Connection
- Confirm Your Network Name (SSID): Make sure you know the name of your Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure Your Internet is Working: Check if other devices (like a phone or laptop) can connect to the internet.
Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
On the Printer Screen:
- Tap the Wireless Icon or go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Choose Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
If You Forgot Your Wi-Fi Password:
- Look for the password on your Wi-Fi router (it’s usually printed on a label).
Verify Printer's IP Address
- Once connected, the printer will display an IP Address on the screen (e.g., 192.168.x.x).
- If it says Not Connected, repeat Step 2 or ensure the Wi-Fi network is functioning.
Install or Update the Printer on Your Computer
For Windows:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the existing HP OfficeJet 3830 if listed.
- Click Add a Printer and select your printer from the list.
For Mac:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the printer if already added.
- Click + to add a new printer and select your HP OfficeJet 3830.
Test Printing
- Open your USPS labels and click Print.
- Ensure the HP OfficeJet 3830 is selected as the printer.

If Problems Persist
- Restart Everything: Turn off the printer, router, and your computer. Wait for 1-2 minutes, then turn them back on.
- Reset the Printer:
- On the printer screen, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
- Reconfigure the Wi-Fi settings.
Mobile Option
- If you’re unable to fix the Wi-Fi, use the HP Smart App on your phone to print directly via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct:
- Download the HP Smart App from the App Store or Google Play.
- Connect to the printer using the app and print your labels.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
