I have an envelope with my Logo and address on it (that I had ordered) I'm trying to make a few copies of the envelope to get me by until my new order arrives. I get the blank envelopes loaded in the printing tray and place my original envelope on the glass to make a copy and it keeps saying, "The paper size detected by the printer in Tray 1 is smaller than the size selected for the print job".  I have went through the settings to try to switch it from 8-1/2 x 11 paper size to envelope size for Tray 1 but i'm not having any luck. Has anyone had any success copying an envelope? Thanks!!

Hi,

Open the paper tray and ensure the envelope is aligned to the center, as the illustrate on the tray regarding a label, then close the tray,

Evaluate the shown prompt and click on No or Edit to change the paper size, from the Paper Sizes list select Custom and press OK.

Now try copying the envelope and check, be sure to place the original label on the Flatbed Glass, on the marked corner.

If you cannot get Copy to do what you want...

Consider scanning the logo from the envelope into the computer.

Save the file as an image.

Open the image file, crop out and save just the bits you need - for example, save that logo.

OR

If you want the the logo AND the return address, include both logo and return address.

Save the edited image.

Open Word > Open a blank / new document

In Layout, set the margins to Narrow (or minimum of what the printer can handle if you can't stand 1/2 inch margins)

In Layout, set the page size to match the size of your envelope

In Layout, set the orientation to Landscape

Insert a Text box in the document.

Set the Text box to "Tight" and slide the box up to the location of your return address.

Make the box big enough to corral the logo / logo-return address image.

Remove any of the "default" bits that are part of the original text box content.

Use Insert and shove the logo / logo-return address into the Text Box.

If necessary / desired - add whatever else you want into the Text Box.

Create another Text box in the middle of the document

Set the Text Box to "Tight" and slide the box to the space in the middle-center where you want it located.

Make the box big enough to contain the destination address.

Remove any of the "default" bits that are part of the original text box content.

Add the Destination address text and whatever else you want in the Text Box.

Save the file.

Print the document.

Suggestion, Use plain paper to test the printed output.

NOTE:  This example includes an optional Watermark image that was custom sized to fit on this paper size.  Using this option can change the necessary margins.

Thanks for the info!

I tried the custom setting but the printer said it wasn't supported, so i tried the 4x6 photo option for kicks since it was close to my envelope size and it worked lol!!

Excellent!

Just in case,  and if you do not already have a copy of it, do scan that logo into your computer and save it.

You may want it at some point.

For example, you can use it as a watermark.

Smiling.

Sorry for stepping in - it took me so long to answer that I did not realize I was tripping over you.

The manual-envelope-solution is interesting so I'll leave it in the thread for now.
